Can the baby eat brown rice at 4th month? How to prepare food for him? I intend to boil some baby carrot. So is it I mash it and feed direct?

SKIP THE CARROT...too young wait two months.

This is one topic that is regional and there is a lot of old wive's tales out there. Ask your doctor some give different advice.

The American Association of Pediatrics recommends no solids until 5 months...then you do plain rice cereal (this is the least likely to cause an allergy) BABY cereal...very thin and thicken as he gets older.

After about a month you can GRADUALLY introduce foods. Stage one (or VERY running) mashed/strained foods. Most recommend you start with vegetables and then do fruits.

Feed the baby small amounts as they still should be getting nurtients from breastmilk or formula as the majority of their diet. Also, stick to one food for a few days, be sure there is no allergy and then move to another for a few days. Once you have a menu of things you know are fine, you can interchange.

DO NOT PUT CEREAL IN THE BOTTLE... that is an outdated thing to do.

You baby is still a little too young to be feeding him other foods. He shouldn't be fed solids untill 6 months. His digestive track is more developed then. 4 months is a little too early. When you do start out. I would start out with Stage 1 foods, those are just purrade (sp) dinners, and pretty liquidy. Otherwise Baby rice cereal, mix it very lightly with milk. just make sure it isn't thick at all. As for the carrots, I boil them until they are extremely soft, cool them completely (you can run them under cold water if your in a rush, and mash them up, or when he is old enough (our son is 9 months old), I cut them into tiny pieces for finger foods.

I'd check with your doctor, but you should wait awhile longer to do all of this.

I don't suggest that you give him solid food. Baby's can eat at 6 months. I also have a 4 month old baby and I just feed her with milk. Baby's cannot digest food this early. Try asking your baby's doctor about it.

Try giving pureed vegetables and maybe some baby rice in his milk. It's best not to give sweet things for a while until the baby is used to savoury solids, and then you can give foods like pureed banana, or the bottles of sweet baby food (rice pudding, banana custard etc).

I just gave my babies baby cereal at this age. The medical doesn't recommend fruits/vegetables until 6 months; Meat at 9 months; Dairy at 1 yr. I would only recommend baby food at this age not table adult food. At 4 months they defintly don't have the ability to digest. Talk to your pediatrician.

at 4 months they can have baby cereal and 1st fruits. now days there are all these rules about what babies can eat at a certain age..i think the main worry is allergies to foods. just start out with like baby cereal and fruit. feed them that for a week or so to make sure they are digesting it well and it isnt affecting their bowel movements . theres lots of good baby websites to visit too you can look in to

you should wait 6 months...
Then you'll have to mix/mash all vegetables/fruit with a little baby-milk.
Don't give any red fruit before 12 months...those can make him allergic.
Try to mash an avocado with banana, children love it and it's full of vitamins.
For veg', you can use all of them...just add a potato with them and your baby will enjoy it!
Don't ever give fruit juice, always mineral water: otherwise, they become addict to sugar which is bad for their diet!
One more thing : try special biscuit...it's important to help teeth grow to eat solid : it helps teeth going out and if it hurts, they like it and it's relieving!
