You need a carcuss for bait, so you want the smell to travel in its direction. Then the fun part. You use a larger version of those dog nooses. The one where there is a noose on a pole. Then you need your buddies, because without buddies, you will be holding the alligator till you decide it's wise to get your buddies (get the smart ones, not the dumb drunk ones). Although alligators bite down hard, they are weak at opening their mouth. Then you duct tape their mouth so they don't bite (a buddy will have to go and shut it's mouth using a noose). Then you put it in a large bag or metal cage.

You don't. Animal control catches it, while you remain well behind them. Preferably holding the largest firearm you have, in case it doesn't go as planned. Shooting it without provocation is a violation of the endangered species laws, so leave it up to the professionals to do the Steve Irwin maneuver and net it.
Alligators aren't parthenogenic: they need both males and females. If its just one, there is no cause for alarm. Still, warn your neighbors. Loose dogs and cats are favorite foods in areas without fish or birds.

Greg has the right idea but don't forget the other end. The tail will do a lot of damage in its own right and the bloody croc can turn on a dime so don't get cocky just because you are behind it. The will tire fast but they also can have a surprising reserve for that final lunge...Where are u in Cali? My bro is out there and if in your area can contact you to offer his help. it wouldn't be the first one we have trapped!

Well good luck! If Steve couldn't catch it what hope have you? Do you feel confident that you'll get anything other than the crazy responses you are bound to get. Regarding sexuality, you are better off asking a question on the search engines.

You wait and get a noose around its neck and wrestle it still while tying its jaws shut with duct tape (thats what steve-o did).
Yes they need a mate as they are not asexual.
Best to leave it all to the professionals and call animal control...its foolish to try and do something like that on your own.

How to catch an alligator 101: Ok first go to the grocery store and get a big steak. ok now go to where the alligator is and wave the steak at it untill it attacks and then fight like hell and pray you win:) Good luck

First i guess you need steak. and lure it with it. Make a trap with the steak inside it.
