After many years, e-bay came into my life. Do I have to worry if the ads about the items are true? Why is shipping so high?

Yes. The Shipping is set by the seller. Some charge alot for shipping to compensate for selling an item at a low price. Make sure you check the shipping charges before you bid on an item. If its not fair, dont buy it from that seller. Good Luck.

I was an e-Bayer but i failed to make any profit, instead ebay made profit through me. I had to pay for the listing fee even my items are not sold.

Besides that, i received a lot of fake email, some people bidding for fun too.

If you want to do internet business, choose the business where u are not required to handle item delivery or non physical goods business. You will have nothing to lose doing this kind of business. My advise is go for the internet business which requires less of your time and the one that will not make you feel headache with web designing, or which require IT knowledge. Second, choose the internet based company which offer you the opportunity and at the same time giving you the convenience to start the business. Third, choose the business, which does not require big money to start it.

No it isn't. We are always constantly hearing of crooked behavior by sellers. It's the sellers that determine the descriptive content of ads so you have to worry about them. E-bay tries to do a good job of policing but there is such a vast amount of trading going on they have their work cut out. Shipping is high because they can get away with it.

For the most part, Ebay is very safe. If you use their online paying system, Paypal, you can get your money refunded if you purchase an item and the seller fails to ship it.

e-Bay is safe to some extent. there are lots of scammers there claiming to purchase your product, but once your product is delivered, they will not send the payment. there have been numerous reports of these scammers from Nigeria. you can check out the reports on e-Bay or on Yahoo to view their usual tactics so that you may avoid them.

I got burned on ebay and was only given back 50% of my purchase! I refuse to use ebay or PayPal ever again!
