I've noticed just now that me and my family always do this.
We open the fridge and just stare at it, 10 secs or 20 secs. And then closing the fridge door without getting anything. MY family and I repeat this over and over again the entire day. Does anyone else do this, or is my family just werid.

its funny watching my siblings look at the fridge, it looks so funny looking at them staring at the fridge for 20 secs, wishing something pops up

Yes every body does this. I think perhaps it's responsible for global warming.

My son does that ALL the time! He's 18. He comes in opens the fridge, knowing he just opened it 10 minutes earlier, then repeats this until he leaves or goes to bed! Weird! He's like my dog who checks his bowl to see if anything is new each time he comes in from going pee!

I'm the only one in my house (4 of us) that stares in the fridge and the cupboards, without getting anything out. I'm looking for something, but nothing has quite taken my fancy.

Yes. But I put a strap on the refrigerator door and we where broken of the habit within 2 1/2 weeks.

I used to do that alot when i was between 10 to 16 year old.

We do that all the time. I guess we are hoping that the refrigerator fairy (kind of like the tooth fairy) will eventually fill the fridge with tasty treats. It hasn't happened yet but we keep hoping.

I think we keep doing that hoping new food will appear. Of course, this is one of the definitions of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Ya I do that when I'm bored sometimes lol. There's just nothing I want to eat. I'm not starving... but I want something yummy to appear in my fridge lol.

hey chill man, I do it too. as someone pointed out, to see if there's anything intereseting. sometimes it just happens without me even thinking. get snubbed by mom in the process.lol !
