An exact match? No, that would not leave any room for growth or new experiences. I like jazz, blues and old rock and roll. My old man likes country, old country, hard rock. He also likes blues and some jazz. I have found some country music that I like because of his influence. He reads books on archery, hunting and Harley Davidson motorcycles. I read all kinds of books. I like fantasy, drama, murder mystery's, history, and Biblical literature. He hasn't read any of the books that I like but he has watched some of the movies from the books like "Lord of The Rings" and he enjoyed them. He would never have chosen to watch those types of movies if I hadn't read the books and told him about the plots and how interesting they were. I guess if couples had every single like or dislike in common they would probably get bored with each other quickly.

No. But it's always nice to have one or two things in common because you'll spend less time figuring out which DVD to rent or what music to play on a road trip.

They don't have to match exactly, but I think that they need to compromise with each other's likes and dislikes. That makes it more pleasant all around.

no, then everything would be boring. you'd have nothing to fight over and nothing to work out. if everything was equal there'd be nothing there that makes you different
