It's the same length as a non-fractured Patella. The knee cap is just a few inches long and the fracture can be no longer. Must have been a heck of an impact to break the knee cap, it can really take a beating and come up without a scratch!

the patella is the knee bone. so it could break in half and be inches or feet apart. there is not a certain length of bones, everyone is different.

Its impossible to guess with out looking at the xrays.
This is a bone that is more often dislocated than fractured.It can withstand quite severe direct impacts but the cartilage holding it is easily torn by side impacts.
