Yes. Finasteride (aka Propecia) has been proven to stop hair from falling out in men. This medicine causes a significant drop in both scalp and blood levels of the male hormone known as "DHT". DHT causes male hair loss by shortening the growth phase of the hair cycle and producing progressively shorter, finer hairs. Eventually these hairs totally disappear.

Propecia does have side effects though and it does not work with everyone. Many people are good candidates for hair restoration surgery such as "Follicular Unit Transplantation" which is the vastly improved hair transplant technique. FUT takes hair from the back and sides where it is still thick and moves it to the top where it is thin. This surgical technique is completely natural looking (unlike the old days of dolls head hair plugs). So in a way this is a "cure" too.

No. Consider hair replacement, implants or wig. But, trust me, bald is in and most women I know find it more appealing.

No, but you can use Rogaine, however, if you stop using Rogaine the hair you have grown will fall out.
