As i stated he is married, and i said i would be his friend throughout his deployment. I didnt say i was going to interfere with the marriage when he is back home. That is his decision not mine & I wont be the cause of any issues then. But I promised no matter what i would be his friend throughout the deployment, I do not bring up love, relationships or anything of the sort right now he has enough to worry about and handle without some emotional mess added to it. Do you think that its ok to stay friends during this time as long as i am sure to keep the emotions in check?

If this friendship is strictly platonic then it is fine but if it goes beyond "just" friendship then it needs to stop immediately. It is definitely wrong!
