Since i was 5 or 6 years old if i'm not mistaken,i have a sudden interest in either watching tv that shows dramas or movies that has a hero performing CPR on the heroine to revive her back to life either due to drowning, asphixiation, heart attack, etc. until now.I also loves to read medical books with CPR illustrations(female as the victim) when i go to the library.Sometimes i did mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and chest compressions on my wife for fun.My wife does admit that i'm kinda weird for choosing this as a fetish but later on she does'nt mind at all.She said she love it to since she get used to it for quite a long time.I do worry if i might broke her ribs or even interupt her normal heart rythm while doing chest compressions on her but so far she's ok.Seriously i love her so much and really don't want her to get hurt just because of my weird fetish. Is this something normal for a men to have such a fetish? If it's normal/not normal, can you guys tell me what's the logic for such?

If I can remember psychopathology correctly, a fetish is the association b/w sexual stimulation and some type of act and/or object.

With that said, you need to find out whether it is the entire act of CPR is acting as a catalyst for such excitation or is it the meaning behind the action (such as being the hero).

The etiology of this fetish, obviously, stems from some of your past experiences with CPR. therefore reminiscing about the past might help determine it.

as a guy i believe having a fetish is normal whether it be breasts, butts, or even CPR, but you need to find the allure behind yours and hopefully find a less harmful substitute for that fetish, for your wife's sake.

Why do you continue with such behaviour? Is it because you are sexually aroused this way? Technically, no fetish is considered normal. It is just an issue of how common and how bearable your community is. It would be best for you to seek professional advise since you're getting concern about hurting your wife. What type of fetish one develops is subjective. It's not conclusive but it could be that your brain had related CPR to pleasurable experience and when that gets reinforced repeatedly, you developed a fetish for CPR, relating CPR to something good. There're a couple more theories but to throw them all in would take up a couple thousand of words! You asked what's the logic for it to be normal/not normal. What is right or wrong is dependant on what the society perceive as right or wrong. Where you should draw the line is whether distress or hurt is being caused. Hope this helps.

I have never specifically heard of a CPR fetish. Seeing someone doing something for someone else especially in the way of saving their life could cause excitement. As far as doing your CPR fetish with your wife, DO NOT do actual chest compressions on her or any other person unless they are in cardiac arrest necessitating CPR. I am a registered nurse and that is why CPR classes use mannequins. As you mentioned you could affect a normal heart rhythm and crack ribs. Of course in an actual victim who needs CPR broken ribs can occur (the lesser of two evils) as a result of having their life saved. As far as mouth to mouth, don't do it if you have a cold, and don't blow too hard. If you don't tilt her head back and blow air down her esophagus, she will get air in her stomach and burp.

uhm, it's not normal, but not so far fetched either. u obviously like women, but you also like to be the hero. with cpr, you are saving someone's life, and that's always gonna give you a good feeling...it basically comes down to the damsel in distress complex; u aren't the woman wanting to be saved, but you want to save the girl and then basically get to marry the princess like in the fairy tales. however, i'd advise not to do it anymore, cuz it's possible to break a rib and have it stab straight through the heart--it's happened, but obviously that person was already dead...a fetish isn't worth that type of risk...

it is wierd because it could harm your wife. It is weird because you are too interested in it. It is wierd because females are the victim. If your wife were not willing to do this for you what would you do?
