Same advice I just gave to someone else:
Do a relatively strenuous workout early in the morning, not only will this be great for your overall health, but it will improve your ability to sleep in the evenings. Do not workout in the evening.

Hi. It really pays to keep a Daily Diary to find out what Triggers you find for having sleepless nights. What do you eat? what times do you eat? how often do you eat? Same goes for drink. Do you take any medications? any over the counter products? Find out from a Doctor if there is any physical reason for not sleeping. If not then there are other options. Once you don't sleep well you worry about not sleeping well and that stops you from sleeping well etc. All the best. Maraika

Medicines only suppresses your illness and they do not offer permanent cure.
Early in the morning go to a park nearby your place when the dew is fresh. Walk on the grass barefoot for 5 minutes. The chill travels throughout your body and upto the brain. This relaxes the body.
Now sit on the grass, with a spread, facing east. The rising sun's rays have a lot of beneficial effects on your body. Please do breathing exercise for 5 minutes. After that do meditation for 5 minutes. Come home and have a glass of hot milk mixing 1 teaspoon of cocoa in it.
Your night meal should be at 2030 hrs. Light meal with a lot of vegetables. Go for a walk for 30 minutes. Come home have a glass of hot milk with one teaspoon of coca mixed. Sit on the bed facing east. Do meditation for 5 minutes.
Your head should be on the south or east side. North and west sides create magnetic disturbance. Your bed should not touch the walls and there should not be any mirron behind your head.
If you do this continuously for 7 days, you will get sleep easily. From the third day onwards you should be able to sleep peacefully.
If you need any other information, please send me a message.
If it is possible change your nickname "foxforget" at the earliest.

If you have bad anxiety, and it makes you mind "race" when you're trying to go to sleep, there a many things you can try. Are you waiting until you feel sleepy to go to bed? Do you have a lot of distractions in your bedroom? I have heard advice many times to make your bedroom just for sleeping, not the COMPUTER and T.V., etc. Do you like to read? This helps me to get sleepy. Are you on any medications that can interfere with sleep? Are you trying to make yourself go to sleep at a certain time because you have to be up in the morning at a certain time for work or school? Some people find that listening to music helps, but it should be low-key, not hip hop or anything, but that's just common sense, of course. I have a bunch of CDs that are all nature sounds like the ocean, wind, all KINDS of stuff, but I never use them because I'm very lucky and sleep well naturally most of the time. Do you take an anti-anxiety med.? (You did mention anxiety.) Sometimes you can get wierd side effects, ask your pharmacist and read the info they attach to prescriptions. Excersise during the day helps, but NOT at night, as it wakes your mind up again. I'M sorry, I'm rambling, but trying to help you out. There are so many things to try, depending on your personal preferences. Meditation (real, guided stuff you have to learn) can be very helpful, and more beneficial than AMBIEN! Sometimes keeping a journal that you set time aside to write in at night can let you vent your thoughts and feelings, and relax more. Sometimes it can turn into a vicious cycle, like, being afraid you can't get to sleep. which makes you more anxious, and on and on. Sometimes it could be a long, tedious and busy answer like I'm giving you right now, but if it bores you and tires you out enough, maybe you can sleep better. You probably already know that different people need different amounts of sleep. Waking up and not being able to go back to sleep is hard, and I've read that you should get up, go sit in the living room or someplace, and do something else to keep your mind occupied until you may feel sleepy again. Okay, I'll stop, I didn't intend to write a book on the subject! Good luck, and if this continues, it wouldn't hurt to have a general health checkup to rule out any physical problems you may have. All the best to you, hon, and now I have to go to sleep. 'night.

I have a bad habit of not being able to shut off my brain. Normally to relax myself I'll take a hot bath, read, or have a hot cup of tea. Chamomile and herbal teas are good for this-I recommend Stash Premium Teas. They have dozens of varieties to chose from. My personal favorites are Orange Spice Black Tea, Sandman PM Chamomile Tea, and Peppermint Herbal Tea, which is also caffeine free. There is a complete range of others to pick from, as well! Laying with my eyes closed and picturing a nice, tranquil scene, while carefully breathing deep and steady, works for me, too. The trick is I consciously relax each part of my body, starting at my toes and working my way up.
Hopefully these tips will help you out. Good luck!

I use Melatonin. You can find it at Walmart inthe Vitamin isle. Melatonin is what your body produces to make you tired, so in taking one all natural supliment, close to two hours before you should go to bed, you will go to sleep just fine. Now, make sure you can dedicate close to 8 hrs of sleepy time. And do not take durring the day or if your going to use a car, cause once it kicks in, your out for the night. Its great, and there are no side effects or chance of addictions. So try it, its about 7 dollars.
Good luck!!!
