I have been on statin drugs for years, dosage slowly increased. Ten months ago was switched to Lipitor 80mg. Mild fatigue seemed to follow but for the past two months have been feeling constantly and seriously fatigued and having sexual dysfunction that is more than normal aging. A glass of wine with dinner makes the fatigue worse. I am very fit from lots of exercise (jogging and gym work).

go to your pharmacist counter and ask for an education sheet on Lipitor. After reading it go back to him with any questions. They often know more about meds than doctors. Best wishes and good health.

FDA Prescribing Information lists sexual dysfunction as a side effect of lisinopril (Prinvil, Zestril). Another medical source reports altered interest in sexual intercourse as a rare side effect of Lipitor (atorvastatin). Clinical Pharmacology reports abnormal ejaculation in less than 2% of the population studied with Lipitor. Although sexual dysfunction is not listed as a common side effect for lisinopril or Lipitor, it is a condition commonly caused by hypertension and high cholesterol. A variety of options exist for treating erectile dysfunction based on the cause and severity of the condition. Consult your doctor for individual treatment options.

Many of the causes of erectile dysfunction are actually psychological. Understand that this is not the same as saying that it’s all in your head, because it’s not. Learn here https://tr.im/Ns6vU

Psychological issues can easily lead to a variety of very real physical ailments. If that surprises you, it shouldn’t. Stress can lead to heart disease, so why can’t other psychological issues lead to ED? It’s a pretty common, fairly well understood phenomenon.

Stress is, in fact, one of the leading causes of ED, which makes it a particularly nasty condition (because it also can lead to heart troubles, so it hits you twice). Long before stress kills you though, it will impact your sex life in a major, and entirely negative way.
