It depends upon what you're looking for. if you're looking for classics try:

Charlotte & Emily Bronte
Charles Dickens
Jane Austin

For a more modern take on books here are some sites that I check out when I'm in a reading rut:

Teenreads.com (This site is good if you're looking for a broader selection of books to read)

groups.msn.com/chicklitbookclub (This site isn't as varied as teenreads but it's a good place to start out the site is still being constructed it seems but still check it out)

Books for a Teen Girl to read I would persomally recommend:

Meg Cabot (anything by her is mostly great)

Stephanie Meyers (Twilight then New Moon)

Libba Bray (A Great and Terrible Beauty then Rebel Angels)

Phyllis Reynolds Naylor (She's a children's author I know but her Alice series is really good it starts from when Alice is in 3rd grade and is continuing until she is in college [not sure it's still a working progress] I recommend reading all the books for a more in depth understanding of the series but if you don't want to start from Alice Alone and work your way up)

Louise Rennison

Cathy Hopkins

Emily Franklin (Principle of love)

aaaahhh i have to end this but check out those web sites they really do help.

The Looking Glass
The Locket
The Timepiece
The Letter
The Time Piece
The Christmas Box
BY: Richard Paul Evans

Ann House of Dreams
Ann of Green Gables
Ann of Avonlea
BY: L M Montgomery (Lucy Maud)

Pride And Prejudice
Emma
BY: Jane Austin

All the above are very appropiate for a teen age girl and you will enjoy them. I have read Pride and Prejudice 3 times. It's one of the great classics. Jane Austin has a very interesting life. Check her out on the Internet. There are hundreds of web sites about her. Also book clubs in her honor. I very much enjoyed all of the above books.

How 'bout THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY? It's a medieval fantasy series. Lots of magic, mysticism and mayhem...and it has a smart young Irish lass as a co-main character.
