To all of those who think asexuality is a choice...it is not.
I am not, nor have I ever been attracted to, either men or women. I can't imagine ever being attracted to either sex, or desiring sex. And unfortunately, we do live in a society where sex is normalized, it's what everyone does. And so when you don't have it because you find the idea repulsive, you do get a lot of flack for it.

Yes, asexuals deserve their own category, to answer the question. They need to know that there are more of them out there.

I guess there is not much asexual people around and little is known about it. I think asexual communities should be given another category. I don't think its proper for them to be included in the gay category. They are neither gay, bi or even straight.

well, nothing against your decision to not have sex, but I dont think that being asexual and homosexual have any likeness whatsoever. Its like comparing apples to oranges. Being asexual is a personal decision, a choice. You were not born to not have sex. And you dont get chastised for being asexual do you? We where and do. Thats my view on it, although I really never thought about it before just now.

I agree; they should be included in this one. Actually, if we're talking Yahoo! Answers categories, I think all sexuality should be under one category, and cultures that relate to them- including straight people. It would make things a lot easier and more inclusive.

As for including asexuals in the GLBT designation . . . well, it's already brimming full of initials (GLBTQI), so I'm not sure another one will help. Rather, it should be understood that asexuals are welcome under its umbrella as a fellow sexual orientation considered deviant by society.

Asexuality is a form of psyhological pathology, not a form of sexuality. The absence of sexuality is not a form of sexuality.

Asexuality, however, can be altered -- with treatment. Homosexuality is not a disorder -- so being gay can not be changed. Asexuality can be. Androgyny is a style, asexuality is a lack of erotic expression.

Asexuality should be under psychology, not the gay section.

NEWSFLASH -- Wikipedia can be WRONG. Just because something is posted on the internet, doesn't make it true.

1. Start a movement.

2. Create an organization where people, like yourself can meet, and do group activities, without sex being an issue.

Good Luck and Warm Wishes.

I thought an A sexual was an 80's term. Back then It was easier than describing ones real sexual identity. oops I meant to say orientation. not identity.
