Is that I typo because I thought the question is usually phrased "If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one around, will it make a noise?" (or something like that) That question is asking if sound can exist without anyone being there to hear it.

Your questin however answers itself. If there is no one around then it will not be heard.

There is a question that goes like this: "If a tree falls in the middle of a forest and no one is around will it make a sound?"
Sound is a sensation. It requires a sensor, ie. an ear.

To make it more clear, let's try a similar question: "If I am alone in my closet and there is no light and I pick my nose, will I be seen?" Of course not. In the same way, a tree in the middle of the forest will not be heard.

Good Luck

till now a wind hurricane, flow into the woodland and are available across a tree that the wind could desire to knock over. place a tape recorder there this is activated via the falling of the tree. After the hurricane return and play the sound. you have the respond.

It will most likely be heard since even if there aren't any humans around, there's probably going to be animals and insects that'll pick up the sound. I think what you mean to ask is if there's nothing around capable of hearing it, will it be heard? By definition, no. The question already defines its own answer.

ultimately, if there are no people around to hear it, no one can record the sound and say that it's been heard.... Or how great its fall!

yet, there are milllions of other creatures which are in the vicinity... Some of which will be on that very tree before it has fallen.....They are witnesses...... and when its time has come, all things will know and will do what must to avert the danger.....

To them, the sound will amplify!!!

Question is... to whom is the sound greater.... Us, or those little creatures?!!!

I think the end of the quote should be will it make a sound. It depends on what you believe. If your a Coperhagen person, no it wont make a sound, because you need conciousness to produce the sound. If you are a objective reduction person, yes it will make a sound because the wave function of the sound would colapase when it reaches threshold to produce a sound. Very deep physics here.

If there is no living creature around. No but the sound will be felt by the sorrounding air molecues and neibouring trees. since sound is a mechanical wave(wave that requires molecues to travel thats why in a vaccum there is no sound)

A sound will be made, but since nobody is around, it won't be heard.
