still getting over mine as we speak!! it last two weeks and started out as bronchitis first (yuck!!)
drink lots of fluids-colds can dehydrate you quickly and make you feel worse so make sure to drink. water is best-avoid caffeine b/c it will make you more dehydrated
-suck on ice cubes or hard candies if you have a sore throat
-put a warm mist humidifier in your room at nite to help you breathe better and to also keep your throat from drying out
-hot tea w/honey is very soothing
-take nyquil at night to help you sleep
-don't do too much activity during the day and sleep as much as possible-rest is the best thing to a speedy recovery
-drink orange juice to help boost your immune system (the vitamin c in it will help to this)
hope you feel better soon

Yeah, I agree you're doing it right.
One thing that I don't like about being sick is lying around all the time -- I think it contributes to muscle aches and general feeling of lethargia. I actually get a headache if I lay around in bed too much. So if you're not sleeping all the time and you think you're up to it, you might want to get up and move around a little. Don't run a marathon or anything; just get up and get your body moving a bit. A walk around the house would be fine. I think it would help me feel better.
Also, if you're bored, maybe you could read something, or do scrapbooking, or something else that doesn't involve a lot of brain power.

Having a cold sucks. I found that you should eat lots of oranges (Yummy, good for making your throat feel better and full of good ole Vitamin C). Drinking some nice hot tea or some soup also helps. Relax and sleep lots and hopefully you'll soon be as good as new.
Get well soon!

If you have an Inta Juice, Orange Juilius, or other smoothie shop anywhere nearby, grab one (better yet, ask someone to grab one for you) and ask them to fortify it with extra Vitamin C. It helps your immune system and it tastes much better than Tylenol. :) Then rent a funny movie, munch on some graham crackers or french fries (don't know why, those always help me when I have a cold lol) and take it easy. Get well soon!

Some hot tea with lemon and honey, and a good dose of chicken noodle soup combined with a good movie make for the most comfortable cold (if there is really such a thing) I know of.

It sounds like you're doing the right things, just make sure that you get plenty of sleep - your body needs rest to make you better.
