I need some ideas of gifts for my dad he's 55, he hunts - but has all the accessories/books/gadgets he could ever need - he doesnt wear ties, cufflinks, or play golf, he also doesnt drink and is not a sports fan. He does not read that often, or need any more movies. ANY ideas would be appreciated! thanks soooo much :)

Canukgal,

I envy you this problem. I never knew what to get my Dad. Now, I'll never have this problem again. He died 4 years ago not long after my birthday.

The things I WISH I had gotten him all have something to do with more time together and talking and making contact more. How about an invitation, with a pic of you inside, inviting him to take you "hunting". You could provide some hot cocoa, and think up ahead of time a list of things you want to talk to him about before you no longer have the chance. : ) God Bless, and have a GREAT day with your Dad.

Ask for maybe a stereo system, maybe a jewelry organizer, ipod cases, maybe you may want to pick up on learning an instrument (acoustic guitar is sooo fun!) I just asked for a dance part with 60 of my closest friends (but then again, I'm only 13 and u may not like that kind of stuff and it costed around $2,000 not 300). Uh-Maybe some gift cards? shopping spree? just some ideas! They also have those really cool music/gaming chairs which r around $250 just some ideas. OR you could just get cash & put it into savings, or save the money until u find something u REALLY like. =)

I am sure he has all comfort he needs. Let him be my father, I will give him of all the trouble I can muster for the season.

Tell him you'll cook for him for his birthday then burn it on purpose and then come crying on his shoulder. He'll be extremely pleased to comfort his little girl. He'll be very moved by the memorable moment.

Why don't you look into a hunting/fishing trip for him?
