Nobody goes 98 years without winning? The cubs do
The White Sox and Red Sox were cursed, all they did was win, 4-0 in the world series both of this, not too hard.
The problem with the Cubs - they field poor teams in a tough division without a culture of winning
The problem is the fans and the players are in a culture that does not encourage winning, does not foster winning. They need to change the attitude of all the fans, and the organisation
Curse? Funny, but just silly.

Anyone who thinks there's a curse on the Cubs or any other team really needs to think again.......The Cubs are awful, have been awful and will continue to be awful until they acquire some good players and check out their minor league team carefully for talent......Just like the so-called curse with Boston was such a farce and if you read the real history of Babe Ruth and Boston/Yankees/Dodgers you'll be able to see why no "curse of Ruth" could have ever existed......I guess die hard fans need something to blame their team's bad showings on and that's how these "curses" came about.....When a team sucks, it sucks and not because it's cursed (if there is such a thing as a curse, which I seriously doubt)...............

The Phillies went 97 years from 1883 to 1980 before winning a world series. They haven't won any since.
123 years -- 1 world series win.
Quit your damn whining already.
My whole city is cursed - you have the 85 Bears and the current Bears. Then there was the whole Jordan thing.
Here in Philly, year after year we have a team or two get so close just to let us all down in the end.

I agree the Cubsculture is a losing culture. Looks like they're putting some (stupid) money now to buy a better team.
But good players go there and lose (Maddux, Sosa, etc). They have to stop blaming superstition and start looking at themselves.
Like a few years ago, the fan interfering with the fly ball was bad, but the Cubs play after it was much worse. Yet they blame the poor fan and not the millionaire athletes paid to make the plays.

Cursed because of their lack of a WS title in 98 years? No, that's just silly superstition. But, IMHO, they are cursed w/ no parking (no tailgating!), a ballpark that is falling apart, terrible colors, underachieving teams, and fans that don't even know what "12 games back" means.

No, there is no such thing. The Red Sox did not have a Curse of the Bambino, the White Sox did not have a Black Sox Curse, and the Cubs don't have a goat/Bartman/whatever excuse is handy curse. That's all they are, excuses for not succeeding.

THERE IS SOME STORY ABOUT AN OLD GUY BRINGING A GOAT TO A GAME & NOT GETTING IN SO HE CURSED THE CUBS. IN 1969 A BLACK CAT PASSED THEIR DUGOUT DURING A GAME AGAINST THE METS & THE CUBS COLLAPSED. DON'T FORGET THAT BARTMAN GUY. STILL
IT SEEMS LIKE A BUNCH OF B.S.

There may be a curse, but, in 2007, the Cubs will be good enough to break it. 2007 is the year!
