Will America fall one day like the Roman Empire?

Question

Does any one think that America will meet its demise and fall like the Roman Empire? There are plenty of simularities. for example: both have/had a great military presence ( though the United States dosen't admit to being a Military/police state). Both have conquered/occupied territories to maintain an advantage, (i.e. military installations around the world). History has shown that all great civilizations rise and fall. what do you think?

Yes, I do believe America will fall and very soon. America has been turning into Babalyon for some time now that alone will destroy a nation.

I do agree with all you say above too.

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come (Matthew 24:37-42).

Perhaps.

We are not a Police state....Germany and Russia were Police states.

Yes, we have fought in many wars to secure an advantage. But, I don't believe that we occupied with the intent to enslave the people.

The Key question is this: Has the USA made forward progress as a Nation?

Answer is most definitely, Yes. Our last election proved this....The People changed the Government by a legal process called voting at the Polls.

We have volunteer Military at the moment. No one is being dragged off in the dead of the Night to serve in the Military and fight a war. That day may come again, very soon.

There is no certainty of anything....We may Face an economic depression one day and a dictator will govern this country....unlikely.....But, Possible.

One major point here...our Laws are constantly changing and being refined. So, that is forward process in my mind.

It is true that the Present administration attempted to curtail civil liberties in communications. The ACLU stopped them in the courts. That is forward peogress as I see it. Not Perfect, but forward progress.

The United States of America is a World Power...and we will be tested at every step of the way. We will fail in some areas...we will be successful in others.

Ask the elders within your family, if this county has given them and their children a better life. I assure you that the answer will be yes.

What will this country be like in 30 years? That depends on the decisions that are made in the next 5 years or so.

I will wager that we will continue to be strong...continue to enact laws for equality for all people.

The fact that will debate Abortion, Gay Marriage, Prayer in the schools and a host of other issues is a sign of great strength.

In the end we will be just fine.

There are several differences between the two that you selectivly left out.

Inheritence and deification of the imperial seat. That is a big one. Inefficent economics of Rome led to its inability to pay the army. Forced consrcitpion towards the end. The end of the citizen army. Slavery. Religious intollerance. Lack of communications. Lack of military mobility. All the above are characterisics that Rome and USa do not share.

It is possible if our government gets too corrupt and/or if our country gets to big like the Soviet Union did. The reason Rome fell though is because they went from being a republic where the people were in charge, to having emperors who ran the state of Rome into the ground.

I think it's already happening. The US empire peaked somewhere in the final years of the 1990s, IMO. While it hasn't fallen apart yet, it has been held together by nothing but overpriced houses and Chinese debt for a while now, and when the inevitable fall comes, it will be fast, hard, and permanent.

I beleive America is "babylon the great".....

It is the richest country in the world... and we trade with big business countries around the world.... Everyone wants to do business with the US.... Everyone wants the US to straighten out their problems..... Even got some small time talking poor country (N Korea) black mailing us into thinking that they will do us great harm if we don't listen to their demands..... Meanwhile, the country's people are starving to death......

Every country is a "lover" as symbolized in Scripture.... and when this country is blazing from war..... they will stand at the distance and wonder how could it have come to this? (Rev 14:8, and Rev 18:2)

Don't forget, during those days, when you won a battle and conquered, you ruled and made them pay you taxes. How does that compare to rebuilding the damage you helped cause while trying to get them to believe what you believe.

I think it is in threshold to fall, becasue lots of countries around the world are becoming foes with US, as US adopted custom to interfere to internal affairs of countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Korea, South American countries...

We will never surrender. Many Americans own guns and that is why the leftists in this country will never be able to take our guns away. Have you ever wondered why Switzerland has never been taken over? The citizens are very well armed!
