It's not just you...

They tell themselves it is not about being mean.. they justify it by saying they know best.. that those ppl are just poor white trash or poor welfare blacks that don't work... meaning they blame them, therefore, think they are not worthy of help, etc..

The reality is that more white republicans are on welfare; although, it is a close tie. The reason is because of the lack of jobs in the vast Midwest states which are prominently white registered Republicans.

The other reality is that we, the democrats, believe in diplomacy much like when years of diplomacy brought down communism in the Soviet Union. Yet, the Republic party calls us weak just because we believe in saving American lives when at all possible.

In some cases it is weakness. For example, I have compassion for my ex-boyfriend even though I know the relationship is not good for either of us. He is hurting and it tears me up. So, being kind to him would be a weakness because I would really be pacifying him trying not to hurt him, when in reality it would just be better to let him hurt so he can start healing.

I think kindness is important to the right wing. But what your probably seeing is the strong, driven side of the right wing. As far as the war, it seems that we are harsh and blood thirsty, but its important to fight for our country. We dont promote laziness by creating lots of programs to help out those that dont have jobs and so on....dont get me wrong, we have programs for that, but not TONS of them. We promote capitalism, which requires people to WORK hard for their money, without handouts. Handing out money promotes laziness and there are plenty of people to take advantage of that. Some people can see that as lack of kindess but its just FAIR.

No, I would have to say kindness is very important to the right wing. I don't think the right wing thinks allowing abortion is a kindness. Do you think the Liberals are being kind when they make all the nasty sweeping statements about Conservatives?

Not so much kindness, as tolerance of diversity.

As long as the people they're dealing with conform to their specific moral and religious requirements, kindness is appropriate.

It's only when someone dares to choose differently, or to be different, that they suddenly become not worthy of human rights.
