The Hokey Pokey is a good stand-by!! Kids of all ages love it.

Or musical chairs.

I don't know of anything more "modern"- sorry!

This is a catch game. You can use any ball, but most people prefer a football or nerf ball. You need at least three people. The thrower stands at a distance and calls out how many the points the ball is worth. Whoever catches it gets those points. Once someone gets 500 points, they become the thrower.

Also the thrower can call out:

mystery box - the point value is unknown until the person catches it, and it may be negative

jackpot - the value will be very high

dead or alive - the ball is good even when people miss it and it hits the ground

7 up. Take a group of kids and sit them down with faces covered and hand out with one thumb up. The second group of kids, one by one, quietly goes to one of their classmates and pushes their thumb down. Once all thumbs are down, the sitting group tries to guess who put their thumb down. They each get a guess, those who get it right switch places.

London bridge, two kids face each other holding their opposite hands up to form the bridge. The other children line up and skip through the bridge as you see the song until you reach the point "take the key " then the two bring they're hands down and rock (gently!) the kid caught in their arms.

Hot Potato, have the kids form a circle and have them pass a bean bag quickly to the next person until they reach the count of ten or if playing with music, when the music stops, that child steps aside.

Here's a link with plenty ideas. Best luck.

Hide and Seek. Someone counts to ,say 10, and then they have to find the other kids. The other kids, while the counter is counting, have to find a hiding spot and when the counter finds them they have to run away.
