Have you ever been so broke that you were a few bucks shy of paying a car note and couldnt even wrangle those few bucks up to pay it so they repo'd your car? Or so broke you had to bbq outdoors for a whole week cause the electricity was shut off for a while?

I think the brokest for me was realizing that I was so broke, there wasnt even any change laying around to scrape up for what i wanted- a 99 cent burger! (i was in college still)

I've rolled pennies to buy milk for the kids. But I'm thankful for what I have. My glass is half full, not half empty.

The most broke I have ever been is when I was 18 and on my own. I had a full-time job and 2 part-time ones as well. That was JUST enough to pay rent and electricity (not the gas for heat or the stove/oven) Minimum wage was $3.35 and hour and that is what I was paid. I had no food or anything like that. I sold nearly everything I owned just to eat. I had an unsupportive family and there was no way I could go to them for help and there was also NO WAY I was going to live off the state. I ate out of dumpsters to survive. I did that for 8 months. I had to do many, many things that I am now ashamed of to survive, but I was able to keep a roof over my head, at least. I have made sure that I have the kind of relationship with my kids so they will never have to go through what I did.

Once was so broke had to sleep outside in the winter and bum food. Now I have more than enough and my bad diet has resulted in type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and a heart condition. Never had these health problems when I was too broke to eat every day. Such is life.

Well, lets see,

I was sleeping in my car, I had a quarter tank of gas left,

And I took my last two bucks to buy a loaf of bread and a gallon of drinking water.

I had to go into a restaurant to steal jelly to put on the bread!

Yeah, being a college student has to be one of those periods in your life that you are always broke..I mean I work and go to school, but I really don't know where the money is going...I try to save, but I always need something...I am completely on my own...no mommy or daddy so it is definitely a rough period in my life right now!!! I just sometimes want to be a kid!!!

Never that bad, but bad enough that once I dug change out of the couch for a meal...and my bosslady has bailed me out a couple times when my husband's check wasn't what he'd led me to believe it would be, or I might be without a home! Landlords tend to be unforgiving about things like that.

Probably the brokest I've ever been is RIGHT NOW!

I have .04 cents in my bank account and I'm a college student who only works a crappy part time job and we don't get paid till Wednesday NIGHT (stupid jerk of a boss) so that means I can't cash my check till MONDAY!

My lowest economical point during last 10 years has been 250 euros. I like to plan ahead, and dont let it drop to few cents. If incomes stop, I stop outgoings as well.
