i took an hpt today,and it has only been about 2 weeks, maybe a little less, and there was one dark pink line that was negative, but then there was another one next to it which would mean it was posotive, but the second line was alot lighter. so does that mean it is posotive or negative, i am thinking about going and getting a blood test done. or waiting another week and retaking it.

A blood test will show if you are pregnant or not 7 days following conception.
You could be indeed pregnant. Did that second line show up before the 10 minute mark? If it showed up after that then that would be an evaporation line meaning not a positive.
The positive line is really faint. Is this okay? An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

From the looks of it, you're pregnant.. Usually HPTs will say that even if its a hint of a line, it means you're pregnant... if you want to know for sure, I would have a blood test done.. Thats really the only sure fire way to tell.. Congrats!

Sounds like a congratulations is in order. When I took my test it was so faint but we could still see it. I tested 3 more times, all faint but definitely there. My son is now 7 months old. How exciting for you.

If you got a positive, you are pregnant! Congratulations mama! Just to be sure call your Dr. to schedule another urine test with them so they can confirm it and start you on the prenatal visits! Again, Congratulations! Get ready for those wonderful sleepless nights!

even if the "positive" line was faint, if it was there at all, that means that the test detected the hormones caused by pregnancy. Congratulations.

A 2nd line, even if faint, means you are pregnant. I remember feeling a sense of disbelief... but excitement! I wish you the very best.

read the directions on the BOX! a faint positive is still considered positive. go to your doctor planned parenthood or your local heath department and get a blood test!

take another thing first thing tomorrow to be sure. Assuming you followed the instructions then a positive is rarely wrong.
I hope that is what you wanted, but always confirm with a blood test.
