My boyfriend gave his kids and my 2 kids all $100 bucks for Christmas. He gave his grandkids all $50 bucks. After 3 years of dating, he gave me a Shrek video. What do you think of that? Is he being cheap, or is he trying to be romantic or what was he thinking? I got really upset and cried and gave the video to his 3 yr old grandson.

I am not sure where he got the crazy idea. He never explained it. I saw the movie once, but wasnt overcome by it. It was just a movie. I am totally baffled by what he did. I dread Christmas this year because I suspect he has done something stupid again because he told me he bought me a surprise from Menards.

i think something is wrong with him i am 25 and if my other half gave me that for christmas i would be pretty upset myself. i mean it would be different if it was a romantic comedy , something you two could enjoy together.

Have you watched it and did you enjoy it? If so, then it certainly is. Animation is a universal pleasure that doesn't harm anyone. Its not going to offend. Perfect example; Disney films/items are collected by many people of many ages in many countries. Shrek is a funny and romantic film with a nice love story. He might not have chose correctly, but I doubt there was any malice intent there.
Just be greatful he bought you something.

I would understand if it would be related with your relationship or dating (I mean like that it was your first movie you've seen together or if you call each other names in that movie). I don't like this movie at all and I'm "just" twenty seven years old. I would be definitely upset and maybe crying too. Maybe you should ask him where were his thought when he was buying this movie for you. Or was it just exchange mistake???
