One thing that really helped me was when I learned that it's easier to swallow if you don't tilt your head back. When you tilt your head back, the place where the pill has to pass gets smaller, so it's actually harder to get it down. If you just face forward and drink normally, that might do the trick.

If this doesn't work for you, you can always crush up the pill and put it in something to eat, like yogurt or applesauce. Check with the pharmacist first to make sure this is okay. (It should be fine, but you just want to check that it's not a time-release pill, because those should not be crushed.)

And don't forget to finish the entire course of antibiotics, even when you start to feel better. This is very important for preventing resistant diseases.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

It depends. If you don't have to take them on an empty stomach, you can always slip it in with food, just before you swallow. It also depends on if they can be crushed- and you would need to ask the pharmacist about that. Some pills can be crushed and taken in a bit of yogurt or other food, but some need to dissolve slowly or can't take the stomach acids. If all else fails, place the tablet as far back on the tongue as you can without gagging, and drink a large swallow of a favorite liquid, drinking and swallowing until you are sure it's down. And if all else fails, go back to the doctor and see if there is a liquid preparation you could use. Most of the antibiotics come in a liquid for children, and although you would have to take more to get the same dosage, it is sometimes an easier choice.

How old are you? If you have to then do it...get water in your mouth put in the pill and swallow...next time tell the doctor or pharmacist you have this issue before the prescription is filled...

Take them all do not stop when you feel better that is how we got super bugs that cannot be treated by people not taking all their drugs or by taking some and giving the rest to friends...

Drink a little water first and then take the pill with more water. This generally works.
