What this situation is REALLY about most people are missing. It is not about Michael Richard's racism -- is about the double standard that blacks expect in America. If a black comedian uses the word "honky" or "cracker" nobody bats an eye because whites choose to not be offended by those terms. I could not care less if some black comic calls a white person a cracker or a honky. But blacks have chosen to create this taboo aura around the use of the word n i gg e r so that no one EXCEPT BLACKS CAN USE IT. Blacks call one another n i gg e r all day every day and no one is supposed to bat an eye. It is all right if blacks use it. But whites can't. Mexicans can't. Asians can't. Only blacks get to use that word. What if we as whites suddenly said that only WE can use words like, "graduate", "not guilty", "educated" and we said that blacks cannot use those words--only WE can. Blacks would be screaming within five minutes that we were racist. Yet when blacks choose to only get to use the word n i gg e r it is the EXACT same thing. That proves that blacks don't really mean it when they claim they want to be treated equally--they don't. They want SPECIAL treatment. In effect, they are saying, "WE can use this term but no one else can." Translated that means, "We want to have special privileges that others don't enjoy." Therefore in an ironic twist that only O.Henry would truly appreciate, it is the BLACK community that really demonstrates the most racism over this whole Michael Richards episode much more than Michael Richards does. Ironic huh?

Michael Richards, as Cosmo Kramer on Seinfeld was the only reason to watch the BORING show. Not that I ever watched it. (Not all the time anyway.)
So he flipped out. He said some bad things. How many people haven't got mad at someone else? At the moment he just said whatever. He said he apologized, and if he is true with his apology. We just need to let it go. I think the guy can be very funny.
My concern is what took place before he flipped out. How would you feel if you was him in that situation. Just say it was some Hispanic people or even Asian people.

Michael Richards still has my support.

I don't know? White and black people have their moments. Plus did that black person say something racial?
Why were race words used in the first place, because that really gets under a persons skin. Makes them mad.
They should have just cussed each other out and been done with it.
There are plenty of ******* in any race, white black Mexican, and so on...
I have friends that are black that are cool then there are the *******.
I have white friends that are cool then there are the *******.
People why don't we just tell a person if we don't like them ...
Regardless of their color.

That's pretty crazy.

Of course you could say the black guy heckled him and thus deserved some type of retribution but i've been to comedy shows. And i've seen how some comedians just go with the flow and let it go.
But i have never seen one get as angry as Richards did and then claim it was nothing more than a fit of rage and that he's not racist.

Nobody who's not racist will ever bring up lynching the way he did.

And i can honestly say that i lost respect for Richards.

And... wow, he just screwed himself over bigtime.

I dont think that he is a rascist, I think he got in way over his head, was bombing in his standup act and said many many things that he will regret for many YEARS to come!! MEl Gibson went on a tirade about Jews but I do not believe that he is anti-semitic, although at least he had alcohol to blame on it! Michael Richards is an actor who does comedy, BUT he is not a standup comedian, I think he got in over his head, got heckled and chose the absolute worst recourse to get out of it!! Doesnt excuse what he did or what he said, but a mistake doesnt make someone rascist, a pattern of behavior makes someone rascist and this is the first anything has ever been said about the matter so it should be chalked up to a REALLY stupid mistake on his part!

Why is anyone racist. Just because he's famous doesn't mean he's not human. I would say 95% of the human race is racist (against a culture or race other than themselves). Even you are, but you probably won't admit it or act on it. Michael Richards is an idiot.

The simple fact that a couple of hecklers in a comedy club made him burst into a racial rampage makes him a racist. What does the color of the men's skin have to do with what happened? What would his response have been to a couple of white male hecklers? It would have been quite different, and probably funny.

The fact taht the hecklers were BLACK was the issue. It overshadowed everything, including Michael's sense of reason. That makes him a racist in the worst way. He can't see beyond the color of someone's skin...when that skin color is black.

To make it perfectly clear, even though is been a while since you been on TV or in a movie that was a hit, that don't give you a right to spew and I mean spew the n-bomb like you a KKK member. Micheal himself, I sure has talked about and said a lot of things about people but that crossed the line. That goes to show some you can't hide who you really are no matter who you are. Makes you wonder who else in Hollywood is racist underneath all the awards. Hm-mm. Love some comments from Dave Chappelle right about now.

the man is racist, he should be used to heckeling. hes been doing stand - up comedy since 1979. telling a black person, quote " "fifty years ago we'da had you upside-down with a f--king fork up your azz," and "that's what you get for interrupting the white man" Throw his azz out! He's a ni&&er! He's a ni&&er! He's a ni&&er! A ni&&er! Look! There's a ni&&er! repeatedly. the man is a racist. pure and simple. his anger brought out his true nature. what non-racist person says things like that.
