I have suspition that my doughter is using marijuana so i have been giving her random U.A.'s and then I found these pills called golden seal in her room and i asked one of my friends what it is because i knew i didnt buy them for her. Well come to find out she said it can be used to clear your system of marijuana.
Now i was not sure and thought maybe someone could know about it...

Nope, it doesn't clear your system of the byproducts of marijuana. It is thought that since it aids in digestion, that it speeds up metabolism, getting the chemicals out of your body sooner. This isn't true however, on a short term OR long term basis.
It does however mask the byproducts. It does so similar to the method tried by many of drinking gallons of water, via dilution. Many older tests, and the tests you can find at your local pharmacy, can be fooled by both methods.
If you want a proper urinalysis done on your daughter, I'd have your general practioner that you normally see do one on her. Even the cleansers that actually work as well as many think Golden Seal does won't fool those tests, as they will if nothing else show up on the test themselves.
And to those critical of her approach you know nothing of her relationship with her daughter, so no need to lecture her :p

People who smoke it (and are not very bright) think it will. They also think drinking gallons of water & all other kinds of things will as well. Marijuana while one of the milder drugs compared to others is not water soluable (like coke is) it is fat soluable. So if you boil marijuana in water nothing will happen (other then it getting wet). If you boil it in butter it would degrade. This is why it stays in you system for so long as it is stored in fat cells. So a month later it can still be detected. Something like coke is gone in 24 - 48 hours after use (depending on the amount of water you drink). As to date there is nothing that can break it up stored in the fatty areas of the human body.
You can forget about all this science stuff tho & just look at the way the world works for your best answer. There are creams that claim to make a womans bust bigger & pills that will make that certian part of a mans body bigger. Do they work? Of course not & that is why the ads are on tv at 2:00 in the morning. There are pills (like viagra) that claim to solve ED in men. Does it work? Well yes it does so it was big news on all the networks & magazines when it came out, & the commercials are run prime time. My point is that marijuana is also a multi billion dollar industry. When they have something can can flush your system of it that really works, you will hear/know about it & it wont be from a friend, it will be front page news.

golden seal helps speed up the process. it would also help the nagging pot smokers cough that develops and not to mention excess pheme build up. in small, short term (2-3 weeks) or on the onset of getting sick it boosts your immune system. (similar effects to that of chinese or korean Ginseng)
as with any drug, good or bad, continued use of golden seal can actually harm your body. (liver and other internal organs) i would address this with your daughter sooner then later as you have no idea how long she has been taking these. hope that helps.

It will not mask the usage in a drug test given at a lab. I do not know what limitations there are on the test you use though. Golden Seal certainly couldn't help her system though if you gave her daily UAs for a while.

Golden seal is also used to help with the common cold and allergies...Trust me it will not mask THC in a UA. I find it rather creepy that you make your kid pee in a cup for you and you test it...Maybe some good old fashioned discussion would work better but hey, that is just me.
