I liked the movie. I thought the casting seemed fine, the plot was compelling, and the music broad and sweeping enough in style to pull the disparate locations where it all took place together. Perhaps what the film's director aimed for was to make a film that anyone who has not read the book can understand and enjoy. Or maybe the problem is that so many people have read the book already, and the book was so good, that it is hard for a movie to properly fit it, or to match the vision of the characters and locations that people made in their heads by reading the book. If one eliminates the people who read the book already from the movie going population, then one is left with those who didn't read the book (obviously). My point of the last sentence, though, is that some of the critics said that anyone who didn't read the book is likely to be very confused by the movie because they lack the necessary background to put the pieces together. The critics suggested that the only people who hadn't read the book that would be able to understand the movie are those who have a reasonable background of knowledge in European religious (particularly Catholic) history [edit: like the poster said above, if you don't already know the history, so that you can easily play with it conceptually, it would probably feel like "history class" for most people], and if one considers the number of people that have the knowledge and background but didn't read the book yet (as if one is interested in this topic, then this book seems a good one to read, even if it greatly made up), then there is, theoretically, only a fraction of the population that a) hasn't read the book but b) will understand the movie anyway, without having to strain to find the meaning all the time.
I fit in this small fraction of the population, so perhaps this is why I liked the movie.
While I don't have the specific answer to the question you asked (since you asked what an individual disliker does not like, and I did not dislike it), I hope this helps a bit in unraveling "What do people not like about that movie?"

most ppl not including me dont like the movie because it goes against everything they believe and everything they are told. now ppl need to be told what to do what to think when someone comes up with something that if proven true could shatter everything they are told and believe hen they would not know what to do or where to turn. it is hard for ppl to accept such a film or book when it portrays god and jesus life in such an ill mannor
come on what total rejects it was the best film ive seen for a long time and could be for others too.

I don't like how the end dragged on and on personally. The suspense was over so they just needed to end it.
