Weirdest book I ever read was "The Master & Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov. I never actually finished it as the book fell out of my bag while I was cycling. Must get another copy someday...

We have one or two old books. I'm trying to start a library of wierd books. I missed out on getting "Armageddon - The Musical" but, so far I only have one book, by Mortimer J. Adler called "How To Read A Book". It is a second impression published in the 1940s I think. At the back of this book is advertised other books: eg "The Homeguard Handbook" and "Hell In Helmets".

A great guide for these strange tomes is called "Weird Books" whcih can be obtained from any good high street or internet bok seller. Just google "Weird Books".

I think the strangest fiction book I've ever read that actually made sense is The LEft Hand of Darkness by Ursual LeGuin. I was in my late teens when I read it. It was summer and I read it while sunbathing. Since the book was about a planet where it was really cold most of the time, it was pretty strange....

Another is Woman on the Edge of Time,by Marge Piercy which is a little weird on its own, but what's really weird for me is that my grandmother gave it to me to read-- she was a prim, rather conservative lady.

The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk was weird to me when I read it because I was sick with the flu and it gave me weird dreams. Near the beginning of the book there is a part where someone uses meditation or telepathy or something (it's been a while since I read this) to go into someone's body and either learn about or manipulate a disease. ANyhow, dreaming about that while I was really sick was very weird.

Last question first, Do NOT cut the pages, If it came from the printer that way, leave it alone. Put it on display or put it on eBay.

First question; It is Dante's Inferno, I read it in the 9th or 10th grade. Very visual, but hard to read.
The weirdest book that I have read would probably be Stephen King's SALEM'S LOT. I read it in broad day light OUTSIDE, and it STILL gave me chills!!! That is one story that I have never re-read!
The most recent "weird" book that I have read would be
THE SOURCE by Art Bell and Brad Steiger.
A must read for anybody who questions the "norm"

The Old Testament - world created in 7 days, people living to 900 years old etc.

BTW go to a reputable book technician before you do anything

books used to come that way. the pages being sealed only means that the person who read it, originally, only read twenty percent of it. it is probably hard to come by now. so definitely get it appraised and don't open it until you do. fifty euros is crap...but so is six which is the price to buy another copy.

I'll second the vote for the master and margerita. Also, anything by Kafka tends to be a rather strange experience.

Actually, you are reading Dante's Inferno, not Danita's. Excellent book that you are are reading, however. Sure cut em open.

I read the one about the perfume maker with no sense of smell he kills women to make perfume out of them. That was kind of weird.
