Sure, I believe him..
AND..
I don't care a bit about his having made these remarks ...
I am so sick of this inane insane double standard political correctness I could puke...
Have you ever watched the comics, black & white, at the Apollo
on HBO ???....Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, on and on and on...
Totally racist profanity and not one word of complaint from anyone.

Yes, I believe him. I saw his apology on Letterman and he seemed very sincere.
We often say hurtful things when we get angry. We don't always mean them. I had an intense argument with one of my brothers a few years ago and I said some incredibly mean-spirited things to him. And he said some terrible things right back at me. We both were cruel, but neither one of us really meant the things we said. We just lashed out with the most vicious things we could think of during the heat of the moment. We both apologized to each other just minutes after the argument was over. All was forgiven and forgotten.
Michael Richards has been around for many years. I have never heard of a similar incident or a single report of racist remarks. This could very well be an isolated occurrence where the conditions were just right for him to blow a fuse. I don't know what's been going on in the guy's life. Maybe he's been teetering on the edge.
This will never happen, but all the parties involved at the comedy club incident should apologize to each other. The black hecklers should apologize for inciting him and calling him a M.F. cracker and Richards should apologize for his racial tirade. Then everyone should move on with their lives.

Obviously that's the way he feels. He's a racist and the way i see it, he's entitled to have his own beliefs and opinions.
What I don't like is that he said those things to someone's face (or some people) and went on and on about it. There's a limit and he clearly crossed the line. Whether he's a racist is his problem but when you attack someone then and there, then you deserve a good beat down.

I really do not know what to think about it. I do know however that he was in the wrong and i like to think that people don't say those kinds of things, but you will always get people saying such awful things. No matter how mad he was, he should have NEVER said the "n" word. does he even know what that means? its means ignorant. HE was the ignorant one. I think he is sorry, sorry that he was caught saying it. I don't know of anyone who says that in a fit if rage and than says " hey, i am not racist". if you are not racist, you just do not call HUMAN BEINGS that word. plain and simple.

He showed his true colors. His career...(or lack there of) is a wrap. The bigotry flowed so naturally from his lips. This is probably not the first time he has expressed his feelings towards Blacks. O well. I just dont see how someone could have so much hate inside of them. The clip was rather disturbing.

I think that he is embarrased and sorry about being labeled a "racist". Alot of African-Americans make up his fan base that he will now lose - including me.
I feel sorry for Kramer. For him to be so angry he must have psychological problems.
Behavior like this still does not make it okay for African-American to make bigotted remarks about other races either.

I think it is interesting that he said the comments....then the guy he was talking to made racist comments back. Why isn't anyone coming down on that guy?
don't get me wrong...I think Michael Richards was completely wrong to "throw the first stone".

I did not see Letterman, but if he did apologize I believe him. This will blow over in at least a year.
