it would be a nice gesture, but the problem is that Thanksgiving is not a "gift exchange" holiday, so you might be sending some mixed signals with that.
If the teacher is really a good friend (i have had a couple) than no prob. but after an awkward hug situation, I'd say don't venture down that boulevard.....nothing good will come of it.

I think it's a nice gesture, but only if it's a small gift. If the chocolate turkey is the size of an actual turkey - you might want to rethink this! However, I'm sure that he will appreciate a small gift.
What kind of teacher gives hugs these days?? Weird!

The hug was awkward because close contact with a student may give an appearance of "something going on".
Giving the turkey to your teacher would add to the awkwardness and cause your teacher to be even more uncomfortable than he is already. This would not be a random act of kindness. I would give the chocolate turkey to someone you don't particularly like, a true random act of kindness.

Good question, ethics!
It is not right for a person who is superior to actually accept any gift, except at the conclusion of the entire training course!
It would be seen and judged by others as you sucking up, or the teacher playing favorites, and harm the situation for all the students.
So, could it be that you crave attention, even of the improper kind? Could it be that you are so immature that you can't control your emotions?
Grow up. Stop annoying the rest of us.

Forget the chocolate turkey for your teacher- that will creep him out, leave it alone- he is married anyway. Good luck.

It's best not to give them a gift, except maybe a card.Volunteer to help out in the classroom and always do it in front of others.Be a good example for others and he will appreciate that more.

Ok so do it.....it might creep him out, but it also shows that you are a caring person, and that there are no bad feelings on your part.....
