In a heartbeat. Just because you are attractive doesn't mean you don't need help without me expecting something from you. Besides, my wife would kill me to even think about something like that.

I know this was supposed to be men only, but I do know quite a few men that would do work for a single mom or an old lady.. some guys were raised to have respect for women but...then I also know a-lot of guys that maybe wouldn't expect something but hope/ wish there was some kind of trade going on the whole time they are being The Handy Man!!

From a guy's viewpoint, you better be "SMOKING HOT", attractive. Otherwise it's gonna be difficult. Guys are all about being visual and we're not deep thinkers mostly. We see a woman and the only thought we have is "I'd do her" or "I wouldn't do her".
U might find someone who's willing to fix a lock, but it'd likely be a one time thing. We don't want women with issues or baggage unless we're totally desperate. A woman with kids is an instant family, and 99% of guys would pass it up, unless you were way hot.

This is a very thought provoking question (yep, Okidoki got that right, I even went to your 360). Honestly, I don't know. I think that if we were already friends, I would. If you were someone I had just known or had very little contact with, then I might be expecting or at least gambling for something in return. Before you think "this sucks", keep in mind that if you were bad looking, few men that did not know you well enough (or were friends)would even bother.
Actually, I would be aware that you might be just using your looks as leverage and I would probably get nothing out of it.

Amy and others underestimate men somewhat, I think. We may have the instincts of a dog, but a Gentleman has control over those instincts, and I am 1st a foremost a Gentleman. Yes, you could expect help with no returned favors.

Maybe but the kids will have to be somewhere else. I can't be watching the kids if I'm building a fence or whatever.

Hey, I'd do it for a glass of orange juice and some cookies. Unless the repair a whatever is repair a broken heart then I'd do that for free.

Yes I definitely would. I usually help my friends with things they need, just because they are my friends, and it's a nice way to show them I appreciate them. I am friends with a widow who has 4 kids, and works full-time. I have helped her by mowing her lawn, repairing her deck, helping her with the car, and cutting trees and hedges for fire wood.

my mother would never forgive me if i didn't help someone out.
the part about being broke has nothing to do with anything, I'm very broke myself and I'd still help if i could and not expect anything in return except maybe a thank you.
