I got information that plantation of citrous plants like orange / lemon around the factory compound helps in reducing the fly population. is it true?

Fruit flys are attracted to citrus, however, insects will not fly under the branches of a ponderosa pine tree, the scent of the oozing sap is unpleasent to them, but it smells like vanilla.

actually a good way to keep the fly population away from you trees is cut up old car tires. they actually make fences out of them to put around horse or cattle farms,I know it sounds a bit wild but it works, if you are a little crafty you can do all kinds of things example plant the tree in the middle of the tire, the roots will grow down deep into the ground and this does not harm the tree, bushes plants exc.I have done this will several bushes and trees and it works great.....................Good Luck

Do not think so. Florida has tons of citrus trees and tons of flies

You can get rid of flies by using pest control.
