Why is it that you have made this decision? Are you depressed?

If it's simply just a case that you need your space and maybe you just need some "you" time, then I guess thats ok.

Please though.. if you are lonely, depressed or god forbid suicidal, then whatever you do, don't spend it alone. If you have been invited out then do go. I'm sure it will do you good. You can always spend some time alone another day.

Whatever you decide at the end of the day, it's up to you and you alone, but however you chose to spend your day, I hope it's a nice one.

Happy thanksgiving.

Weird? I spend a lot of my time with others, but, several hours each day, I am here, with you...

But, going out to one of the restaurants or buffets, that serve dinner, is a fun way to eat alone, in the company of many others, and walk away from the dishes!

So, at least, staying home is safe, and there is always the TV and the computer... and good books, and my doggy, a really nice and cute, old Shi Tzu of 13 years. She is great for a cuddle of warm curly fur on my feet!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Birdie,I spent a wonderful Thanksgiving at home alone. I needed some time alone but it really makes those close to you feel like you are depressed. They keep trying to get you to change your mind. I cooked for myself and had leftovers and everything. Sometimes it's great. I think we're ok.

Can I do it with you, you know, be all alone for Thanksgiving? Hah I had you! I would love to have the day to myself but that never happens. Unfortunately, I did get really sick with a cold today and maybe just maybe I can bug out of the festivities. You aren't weird. There's lots of reasons to not want to go through the day. Remember, I like lots of homemade cranburry relish if we are going to spend the day together! LOL Best of luck to you!!!

Not weird at all! I personally can be more thankful for people if I'm alone rather than around them. : )
I'll be spending my Thanksgiving at home with my husband and children rather than trying to run around to all the relatives' homes. I'm tired of that, and it takes the meaning out of the holiday to me.

well it's not weird, just against the grain choice. as for me, i'm definitely not making a conscious choice in spending thanksgiving alone. my circumstances (i'm about 2000 miles away from home and away at school) permit me to be here, and plans that i did have for halloween didn't pan out.

I don't think it's weird. I'm planning on doing the same thing. I have had two invitations and am turning both of them down. I don't enjoy be around a whole lot of people like I use to and am just going to enjoy the peace and quiet, read a good book and have something good to eat.

I have many things to be thankful and I'm planning on thinking about them and thanking God for them. I have a neighbor who has had a falling out with his family here and I'm going to check and make sure he isn't going to be alone.

I have spent a few holidays at home alone, just to have some peace & quiet, but I really sort of regretted it later & my family thought I hate them!

I have spent numerous thanksgivings home alone. It's not weird, just any other day to me.

Thanksgiving is generally a "family" holiday but there is nothing wrong staying home by yourself if that's what you want to do.
