every situation if different but children take a lot of time , money, patience, love, respect, discipline, guidance, indulgence, and willingness to give up some of oneself. But if she and he are committed to each and the upbringing of this child then yes i think this and any other child has a chance of a good life. The very most important thing she/he must realize it is not just about them any more. I wish her the best.

I think the worst thing we can do as a society is mentally set a baby up for automatic failure because of assumptions we make based on the age of the parents.
Age is just a number. While giving birth at 16 is not ideal, and shouldn't really be a goal of teenage girls, it DOES NOT by any means set the baby up for a terrible life.
Life is what we make it. The best thing you can do is act in every way around your friend as if you fully support her and believe her baby WILL have a very good life.

It really depends on the parents. Some people have kids young and they grow up fast and do a great job and can handle it, but others, sadly, just don't. I had my first when I was 16 and he was special needs and I did just fine (he's 6 now) and I also have friends who have done pretty much the same. Unfortunately I also know young moms who were not mature enough to properly take care of kids and never were able to quite transition from carefree teen to responsible parent. And, it's not JUST young people who have this problem.

Yes your friend is too young to have a baby at the age of 16, she will be a teenage Mom.Your friend is very young, babies are a lot of work, especially middle of the night feedings, when you are woken up every few hours. Then being so young will the baby get the quality of care that is needed, I say NO she is too young to give the baby the quality care that is needed.

It really depends. Babies do not need "things" such as a car and a house to have a good life. They need to be nurtured, and taken care of. As long as your friend and her boyfriend are willing to give the baby 110%, then I'm sure the baby will have a FANTASTIC life. Best of luck.

I'm wondering how old the "boyfriend" is if he has a "good job" a car and a house. Because teens here in the U.S. aren't allowed to work full time jobs until they have gotten out of highschool and cars and houses require getting loans and no bank would dream of giving someone under 18 a loan and no reputable car dealer would sell a car to someone under 18. So that would have to put the "boyfriend" at the age of an adult which would also put him at statutory rape since he had sex with an obvious minor. If the state wants to they can put him in prison. I don't know what kind of a life kid would have with the "breadwinner" in the family in prison.

I think so as long as they stay together and have the money. I am 19 and have a baby
I am married but don't really have the money which doesn't really matter since what the baby needs is the love and a family to be there for them.
I love my son!!!

The baby can have a wonderful life if the parents work hard enough.

i am 17 and married, their is no way to predict if someone will have a good life. If they love each other and he is willing to help out, and stay around then she seems fine. Someone should hire a nurse for her when she gives birth, sh'ell need it.
