Ok so , you have lost the disk for your web cam , Some of the stuff i'm suggesting have been suggested by others but i'll try to clarify some of it or make it easyier to understand .

If your armed with the make and model of your web cam eg logi tech orbit xp ( awesome webcam btw) . Go to the manufacters website click support and or downloads , Search for the model number download the software and run the set , after running the setup restart the computer plug in the web cam . if you are still having problems check compatibility of the webcam make sure it meets the system requirements for your computer

2 : so you;ve bought this old web cam off e-bay was given it found it at a swap shop or whatever and do no have the make and model , Your best best now is to look at the cam itself and check Google or driver guide (www.driverguide.com) for the drivers.

99.9% of the time you will be able to download the drivers from the manufacture sometimes you can also simply call up your cams manufacture and order special replacement cd's that contain the drivers and software you have lost.

Hope it helps.

Connect the webcam to your PC.
You've got about an 80% chance that you already have the needed drivers installed or that it can automatically download them for you.

If that fails, do what the people above said -- go to the manufacturer's website. They almost always have the drivers you need.

If for whatever dumb reason they don't, go to www.driverguide.com. You can get almost any driver from there.
