I have been taking the birth control pill Yasmin for just over 2 years and noticed after being off the pill for a few months in this span of time that I seemed to be more relaxed and experieced less anxiety when I was off the pill. Has anyone else experienced this or have any helpful knowledge about it?

One of the common side effects of hormonal contraception is anxiety. It can be fixed by going off the pill like you have or switching brands. Interestingly though, some women like me find that their anxiety is significantly lowered while taking hormonal contraceptives. It really just depends on your body chemistry. If you choose to go on 'the pill' in the future, talk to your doctor about your experience with yasmin to help you find a brand that will work for you without the anxiety.

I was on Yasmin last year and am on it again and I have not noticed it but I got pregnant 2 weeks after stopping it last time. It could be the hormones in the pill that made you feel this way. Also while off the pill you may have been more worried about getting pregnant.

I was on Yasmin for about a year and a half and was also very anxious, moody, and depressed. My now ex boyfriend noticed a stark contrast in me when I was on it. I was very snappy also. I am currently on OrthoNovum I-35 and I don't experience any unpleasant side effects - however I am also on an exercise regimen so that helps my body feel better. :)
