When I was trying to get pregnant I asked my doctor what was the best way and she told me have sex every other day. I decided to have sex everyday and what do ya know I got pregnant the first month and now I am 24 weeks. If you have a regular cycle than you could also try to have sex about 2 weeks after your period, that is when a lot of women ovulate.

Pregnancy occurs when spermatozoa (sperm) from the male, fuses with the ovum (egg) released from the female ovary into the fallopian tube, called ovulation. The egg has to travel sufficient distance in order to meet the sperm. The sperm on the other hand swims from the vaginal passage (where it is deposited) towards the uterus. Fusion (or meeting) can occur anywhere between the uterus and the fallopian tube. Another thing, both the egg and the sperm has a lifespan. The egg lives for about 12 hours and the sperm for about 6 hours. Timing is everything. You miss the boat, you miss it, that's it. He(sperm) gets there too late, She(ovum) is gone. Too early, She is not there yet. When She finally arrives, He is dead. So, how to syncronise the timing?
How to know precisely? OK. The ovulation occurs about 15 days from the onset of your last menstruation (period). Taking the first day of your period as Day 1, you will be fertile on Day 15. It is difficult to calculate the exact moment, therefore you will have to maximise your chances of pregnancy by having sex at least twice a day on Days 13, 14, 15 and 16. Further, you have to make sure whatever sperm that is deposited does not run off, so you have to stay put after the sperm is deposited there. Raise your buttocks and put a pilow under underneath and raise your legs and put them on a chair while still lying down for about 20 minutes each timeyou have sex, to allow the sperm to swim towards the uterus. Gravity will help it get there faster. If you get up immediately after sex, valuable sperm might flow back and have to struggle against gravity to swim upwards. Also when ejaculating, you must get your partner to deposit his sperm as deep inside as possible and not release it while he is withdrawing his penis. And don't let him withdraw his penis immediately. Let him keep it there until every drop is deposited. Hope this helps you. Good Luck. From A. Panirselvam, Malaysia. Normally its about a week after you get your period. But everyone is different. Go to the store and by a ovulation kit, which tells you the best time. Or if you dont want to spend the money go to something like www.babyzone.com. They have a ovulation calander where you type in the first day of your last period and how long your cycles are, and then the calander will tell you the best time. Now the calander is not 100% right but thats what I went by and im 7 weeks preg. Good luck.

The first step is finding out when you ovulate. Figure out how long your cycles are (day one is the first day of red flow). Count backwards 10-14 days and that should tell you roughly when your fertile days are. You then want to start taking opk's around that time until you get a positive. Once you get a positive you will ovulate in 12-36 hours, so get to bding!
It may take you a few months to figure out when to take the tests. If you know that you don't ovulate until around day 13, you'll start taking the tests around day 11 so that you don't miss it. Once you get a positive, stop testing - there's no point. Good luck!

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

Usually you can get pregnant between the 12 and 14th days after your period. I read that you should try on the 12th and 14th day. A useful website is ivilliage.com, which answers a lot of questions about pregnancy and trying to get pregnant. The website is really helpful if you have questions.

When you have mucus on your underwear or on your toilet paper after you wipe is the best time to get pregnant. That means you are ovulating. When you are dry, you are not ovulating. When you are ovulating, have sex every day and even for a few days afterwards, I'm sure you will get prego soon.

If you know when you ovulate, the best time is a couple days before; since sperm lives in the tubes so many days. Either way, it's better before than during the time of ovulation.
