When I do my hand washing I always soak the clothes in the sink with water and Ivory Snow, rinse, put in the washer on spin cycle ONLY to get the excess water out, then dry them flat. But I've heard that spinning hand washables can be bad for the fabric. I've never noticed a problem, but are there certain fabrics/weaves that I should take extra care with?

when I was things out by hand, I just lay them flat and roll them in a clean towel. This gets out the excess water, and is not as hard on the clothes. If you still want to put them in the spin cycle, I would use delicate

Handwashing requires wringing. So spinning to me is the same thing.I put all of my handwashaables and drycleaning in the dryer now, using the new dryer kits.I clean 16 garments for $11.00.The clothes are clean, dry, and I don't have to find a place to lay them flat to dry.
