If the game is close....the other team should be given a chance!! Forget the injuries, and/or penalties....that goes on all game and should so still in the remaining minutes.

Teams get paid to win. "If the game is close...the other team should be given a chance?" They have the whole game to have their chance. If they can't get it done in the first 58 minutes, why should the team who did go out of their way to give the ball back and potentially lose. Kneeling the ball prevents injury, runs the clock down, and doesn't turn the ball over. If you're in a championship game somewhere, and your team is winning by 3 or 4 with one minute to go, would you throw the ball and risk an interception that the other team can return for an interception so that you lose the game? No, you wouldn't. You would do everything you can to win, and that includes playing smart.

NO way. if your up your up. High School and College ball do it too. Teams do it all the time. When a team is up 30 with like 2 minutes to go and they have the ball, they run running plays that dont stop the clock and they dont go out of bounds. Whether you're up 3 or 30, Kneeling the ball when the other team cant stop the clock is apart of the game.

Now, if stats are your game, the kneel is not great. Because you loose about 2 yards every kneel. But, the clock has to wind down, and why run the ball with the risk of your HB getting hurt? plus, say you run the ball and fumble...the other team recovers and gets a TD and you lose..id rather kneel than risk it. the other team does have a chance to win the game, one team cannot hold the ball ALL game, the other team has a chance, and they have a chance before the kneel..the defense has a chance..offense has a chance..dirty play? no. smart way to end the game? of course!

The NFL is the real deal. Coaches and Players get millions of dollars to win champioships and win. Why would they risk all of that to be fair? Kneeling the ball isnt cheap. Its strategy and why risk losing a game by a 45 yard pass or run? It just not worth it

Why would they risk injury or a turnover when that can just kneel on the ball and win the game?

They dont get style points. They get paid to win.

It's not NFL specific, every gridiron league has times when a player takes a knee. Given that it's up to a team to decide what to do with their possesion, it's something that's going to happen.

I agree. There should be a rule where there is no kneeling in a game. Its sissy **** just like when u intentionally walk a big hitter in baseball.
