I agree.
The more you have learned or experienced, the better armed you are to face the world.
Say that you are broke and headed for complete financial disaster. If you have been educated or trained in the ways of money, you will know which steps to take to recover faster than if you had to approach the situation blindly.
This same theory applies to MANY things we face in life--anything you buy, any adversary.
If someone is taking you to court, if you have knowledge of the law, again you are better prepared to face this. If your life situation has left you ignorant, you'd better hope your lawyer is honest.
Unfortunately, most of the business world is very simple...the better education you were able to get, the better job you'll have. Not exactly fair, but shown to us over and over again.

There are certain times when you can say knowledge is power. At the trivial level, when you're out in desert and see what seems to be an oasis, it's good to know that it can just be a mirage. You can find many of those instances in which 'knowledge is power.'

Also, if a certain knowledge, say, prevents disaster from happening, I would say such a knowledge is also power.

But when a certain knowledge is about something bad that is going to happen, I cannot be certain if it is good to know. For example, how you will going to die. It is a biological certainty that everyone will die one day. The question is not if, but when and how. Particularly 'how' is my concern. What if you will die disastrously or in pain beyond anyone's imagination, I cannot be certain if I want to know it. In this kind of situation, if you say you know, then what's going to happen is certain; in other words, you can NEVER change it although you may be able to prepare for it.

I think it's good to know what happened in the past; but probably not good to know what's going to happen in future. Because if you know your future, that means, from a different perspective, your life is already completed even before you complete. In that paradoxical sense, I would say that knowledge of future is not power; but rather weakness.

I agree that "Knowledge is Power." If you arent educated nobody will listen to you. I am a doctor & if you dont explain things to your patient, you will loose them. There are doctors who are really knows their craft well but the problem is that they cant relate to their patients in simple words. Sometimes they are too technical & use medical words in explaining to their patients.
I am a Family Physician & my patients had already consulted their cardiologists, obstetricians, pediatricians & other doctors, however, they cant understand them. Knowledge though is not enough, you should be able to impart your knowledge in a level that people will understand you!
Knowledge should be used in the proper way & not to take advantage of other people like what is happening to our government. Our government officials from the lowest to the highest level in the land are corrupt, that is the reason we still belong to a 3rd world country despite our resources. We have many college graduates who dont even have work here in the Philippines. They go to other countries & find their luck there.
Knowledge & wisdom should go hand in hand. If you use it in the proper way, the Lord will guide you!

Knowledge is always power !
Handling the material world with effortlessness is proportional to knowledge.
A small petty shop owner struggles & toils to make a small means of living , whereas a knowledgeable person sets the right conditions, making others work for him, owning a lot of big companies, just sitting leisurely, enjoying & holidaying.

I agree that knowledge is power. But, there is material knowledge and there is spiritual knowledge. Do you want material power or do you want spiritual power?

If someone learns to repair a car then they may have a material advantage over those who cannot fix their own car.

If someone is enlightened then one is not bewildered by the problems of life. Those who are not enlightened may suffer from bewilderment. This is example of spiritual power.

The entire quote is actually " the application of knowledge is power" . Knowledge alone is nothing if you do nothing with it. Of course, " knowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love....." -Frank Zappa

No, ignorance is bliss.
For example, if you knew many things, say the state of the environment, it may leave you feeling worried all the time. As well, hypochondriacs believe they have a disease once they learn the symptoms.
Knowledge isn't power without courage.

Yes, knowledge is power. It enables you to succeed IF you have the PASSION to persevere and meet the obstacles life throws in your way.
