I'll take from 1969(when I turned 18) into the seventies.
Imagine all the nasty stuff you'd have to eat.
And I bet the water wasn't great.
And bedbugs and rats and fleas.
and diseases.
and if you were in the army you would have to eat a dead cavalry horse while your fingers, toes, nose, and ears froze off.

but

other than the days when I was young and fit and could drink til dawn
if I could live in time in the past it would be when radio first started getting off the ground.

I guess I would rather see it on the history channel. The absence of TV and Radio would make it really boring.
