Seems there is an old bad word in town....n i g g e r.
Are people that insecure to hear the word? Every news story that points to the issue is afraid to put it in print and on screen....if they do.....there is a serious warning.
Kids these days use more profane words to describe women, gays and other races...yet this one word is almost the death sentence for anyone to utter it.
The "Kramer Guy" used it and it seems the world just came to an end...I have heard black comedians and singers use the word in worse derogatory terms than what had happened.
Do you agree that the "N" word issue has been overly used to claim a racist world and do you think it's ok for blacks to use the word....and if it's ok for other races to mock others?

To me, that word does not describe a color, it's the kind of person one can be. Even somebody who is white can be considered a "N". To me, it means a low-life lazy a.s.s. who makes a living off of hard working people because they think the world owes them something because they didn't ask to be born. Hell, if we all thought that way, NOBODY would think they had to work for a living. NONE of us ASKED to be born!

Its foul period. Just promoting your ignorance to keep using such a word. I personally can't stand it because I know I'm so much more than just my skin color. And when I hear people use that word they are just lumping everyone back into one group. When they are ticked off or pissed off at a particular black person they will always say those stupid N's never get anything right or don't do this or that. And this is all based off one bad experience with one person. I really hate that, if you are going to hate or not like someone, do it because of who they are as a person if they are acting up in some way. Do it that way, instead of just sitting back and putting everyone in one category. Bottomline you are smarter to not use it at all.

I wonder what people's fascination with this word is and attempting to justify its use because someone else uses it. Its alot like if somebody jumps off a bridge, are you going to follow?? Also, I grew up in NYC and their are alot of ethnic groups that use words to describe themselves that are exclusive to them, why no big question as to why Irish, Italians, or any other group call themselves micks, or guineas? Would you go up to a group of Italian gentleman and start dropping the "g" word, or go to an Irish bar and begin calling everyone the "m" word, I think not Why?? It has nothing to do with political correctness, it has to do with doing something foolish that could get you physically hurt. So, like I have heard a thousand times today you do have freedom of speech and if you want to call someone the "n" or any ethnic or racial slur, go right ahead, but chose your choice of location wisely.

As a white person, ****** means nothing to me. However, I understand that the context of the word speaks volumes to the African American person. The word carries with it so much hate and bigotry. The connotation of the word is hideous, and it is a terrible word.
On the flip side, I would never imaging going to a black friend and saying "hey *****". But, I have heard it spoken that way several times amongst blacks. Why is that?

To me this is a very bad word, but in my opinion the word doesn't describe the color of someone skin tone, but by there creature. in the dictionary the meaning is someone who is ignorant. For some people it depends on who is saying it to them, but it shouldn't matter who it is it should never be said .

Not sensative, black men and women have a right to be angry about that. It's apart of bad history. No one should use it.

It depends on how you use it, the way "Kramer" used it was racist it's not like he was refering to a ignorant person he was using it in a racist way.
