Every 5 years it was good to update your system because the new one had double the power! Hence 8-bit was turned into 16 bit, then 32 bit then 64, 128 and so forth, but now people are getting ripped off, ps3 is not even double the capacity of ps2, I doubt it is even that much better, it probably has just a bit better graphics and memory, so why is it worth 600$+?

HAHAHA, Sony losing money??
840$ to make? Some people are too gullable. There is probably 50$ to 60$ at most put into each system, I can't believe people buy into all their schemes, whoops, we have a shortage again, yeah right, I just asked this because I didn't see what was so good, at least ps2 had almost 100 more bits than ps1.

because of the extra technology that's put into it, such as Blu-Ray. however, Blu-Ray hasn't had a lot of time to get integrated into the media, so there aren't a lot of Blu-Ray movies. thus, it's not really worth getting right now. and graphics aren't exactly the most important part of gaming. i honestly think graphics like in Final Fantasy XII are as good as graphics should get

and people used to say things like that about books as well, you know... besides, books aren't multiplayer XD

The System is 600 bucks, but it actually cost $840 to make. Sony is losing money on each console they sell but can count on game and equiptment sales to make up for the loss. Its a good system, I'm still gonna get a 360.

It's worth it in terms of it's Blu Ray capabilities. A Blu Ray player right now goes for a minimum of $800 and higher. So you could think of it as a cheaper costing Blu Ray player with a bonus.........it plays video games.

If you're getting it just for video games, then I much rather get a 360 for half the price.

I don't think it is worth the $600 price tag on it. I think in maybe a year when they have worked out all the kinks and the price comes down perhaps. but right now at $600 and $60 a game no.
