I was told you have 24 hours after your water breaks to deliver, or they would have to do a c section.

As long as your birthing center is a reputable place, I wouldn't worry so much, but if you fear they don't know what you are talking about I would head straight to the hospital and see what they think. Yahoo answers may be a good place to ask certain questions, but I think a in the flesh doctor would be able to help you out more. You can call an ask a nurse too, but I don't know what that number is. I am sure that you can look it up. Good luck.

Okay, I answered your other question, but from the way you explain it here, it sounds more like your mucous plug coming out than water breaking.

I don't know if you already know all about it or not, but the mucous plug is found in the cervix, sealing it off. When you start to dialate and efface, the mucous plug will come out, either in bits or all at once. Usually it is not long after that when labor will begin. Can be anywhere from 1 day to two weeks or more.

Good luck!

Yes it is normal. My water broke with my 2nd child and they didnt induce labor for almost 24 hours later. Had a healthy baby girl.
