Where should I start looking for the problem?

if it still blows, but goes cold slowly, try turning the fan off, rev it up a little, then turn fan back on if it gets warm again for a short while your heater core is plugged (this is figuring you already checked the coolant level) all you need to do is go under the hood and find the 2 heater hose going to the bulkhead(theyll be side by side) feel the temp of each hose one will be cold and one will be very hot. turn off the truck and disconnect those two hoses, the take a garden hose and backflush the heater core by spraying the water into the fitting on the bulkhead that was cold, you should see the gunk come out the other side. reassemble the hoses and fill coolant. should be good to go, i would recommend a coolant flush soon after though.

On my 99 it was the heater control unit in the dash since it controls everything eletronically. I changed antifreeze,thermostat to no help and this is what it was

Low coolant level. Check the radiator as well as the overflow tank. Do not remove that cap when the engine is hot.

maybe something with the vacuum lines that control the air distributor?
