What type of stain? There are several products that work, but it depends on what the stain is.
For blood: use whole milk (I know, but it works!) and soak for a day or two adding fresh milk to keep it from drying out. It somehow makes the blood fresh again (?) and of course is easier to remove. I would add detergent straight to the stain and presoak as well.
For ink /coffee / tea stains: rubbing alcohol
For everything else, I use OxyClean - or you can use hydrogen peroxide (just don't leave it too long before washing).
Good luck!

A lot depends upon the material but just washing will do a lot. Try spoting the stains everytime before you put into the laundry with a good detergent. If they are still there ask yourself if you can use bleach without ruining your garment. If you can try just touching the stain with bleach and then rinse well. For some stains hand soap will clean nicely. For others hair shampoo works. The problem is that these methods involve time spent at a sink and scrubbing by hand. There are a lot of products on the market for stains but they are expensive and you have to figure the cost and wheither it's not cheaper to just buy something new.

It depends on what the stain is.Try first by putting baking soda on the stain while it is dry.Rub in the b.soda with a toothbrush,it absorbs grease.Do this several times then wash.If the stain is still there, try hairspray while it is dry, then wash. Test a piece of the fabric first, and if nothing happens to it,then try hydrogen peroxide on the stain. If all else fails, put a spot remover on it,fill the washer with soapy washing liquid and let it sit for twelve hours.Good luck.If it has been in there too long and washed and dryed alot, you may not be able to do anything.

Have you ever used Biz? This was so wonderful when my children was babies. You have to make a solution of water and Biz in a bowl and let the garment set in it. It may need to set for a couple of days but at least once a day take it and rub the stain real good with a little extra Biz.
I have also used Oxi Clean.
