First things first... Do you want to keep the alarm? If so... IGNORE the following.

Remove the trim panel from under your steering wheel and look for your ignition harness, it should be the cluster of wires coming out from almost directly behind where your key would stop when you crank up your car. Trace the wires down until you find a "T" junction (also known as a splice) if there are multiple "T" junctions, I suggest professional help, if not, this will lead to your alarm (a small black box hidden somewhere under your dash) Cut it, the wire that is spliced into the ignition (it will be the bottom leg of the T) and cap the end of the one protruding from the splice. Find and remove your alarm. Depending on what kind of alarm you have (remote start, keyless entry, etc) you may have wires to reconnect.

***NOTE: Do this only at your own risk and risk to your car, this may not solve your problem (probably won't), I am not a professional (yet) so if someone else knows better than me... PLEASE chime in.***

Best bet... take it to where you got the alarm, a mazda dealer, Best Buy, or your local car audio shop. All of these people/places will gladly help you (probably for a fee...) fix the problem.

Poor thing, it must be annoying and people might think you are a thief lol
Hmm If i were you i would get lots of quotes from mechanics (make sure ur not getting ripped off), but perhaps call Mazda and see if others have had that problem, if it needs to be recalled then they will fix it for you free of charge.

Goodluck.

I knew a guy who shot his dash panel out with a rifle, problem fixed! However, everything else stopped functioning as well, speedometer, clock, fuel gage, etc...
Love your question, brought back this wonderful memory! (BG)

Maybe you can read the car book that came with it or take it to a mechanic.
