Awww poor little one. 4 is young so that it probably will fade with time pretty well. I would use pure vitamin E oil, not cream, but the oil on it, rub a dab into it each night. I had cancer surgery and I used that on my nasty scar and it's barely a thin line now. My dr was the one that told me about using it. There are lots of things out now on shelves in stores about scars, these little bandages you put on at night, I don't know how they work, never needed to use one. Vitamin E oil is pretty cheap and is good for the skin and worked wonders for me.

Could you describe the scar a little more? What was it caused by? Is it a burn? or maybe a scar that was stitched? If it is a good oldfashioned scar I would try any of these crems to treat the area. :( Poor little one!

Vitamin E works great...also, poly sporin, if the wound is still open or red...(I actually mixed the two together)

Also, keep the scar out of the sun for about a year.
Scar tissue keeps the melatonin in the skin...
(melatonin is the compound that changes color, such as when tanning)
Because the scar tissue holds the compound, when the remainder of the skin fades back to normal, the scar tissue will remain dark...and more obvious.
I fell through a glass coffee table, face first...168 stitches - in my face...dermatologist at hospital told me all of this.
My scars are so faint not, I have to actually point the out!

Best of luck, hope all heals well!

hey!
dont worry about the scar, it will definitely fade, especially because it is so fresh.
i broke my jaw when i was 2, but i can barely see the scar anymore... i used to put vitamine E oil on it- just like was said here. dont panic if it doesnt fade right away, though- it does take time, but it really makes a difference.

Frankly speaking there arent any medicines that are effective on scars. Fortunately the kid is just 4 yrs old and scars on the face heal pretty damn well in children, so please dont lose hope...it will eventually disappear.

Take care and dont despair.

Hope that helps

Olive Oil or Vitamin E oil. Baby Oil Jell also might work. Ask your Doctor. Herbert West III Disabled Paramedic. west.herb@yahoo.com

most likely the scare will fade to were you can't even see it.
but if u go to the pharmacy, there is a medicine that does fade scares to almost nothing. ask the pharmacist they will tell you.
i could name a couple of them, but you use your own judgment on what the pharmacist has to say
I'm sure the little one is still a little cutie, with or with out the scare, it's going to be OK ,just relax.
