Wait till they leave and your wife goes to bed since you have to drink alone anyway? Go out somewhere after dinner. Too bad you can't be yourself!

First, just because you love the sauce is no reason to get drunk at a family gathering. If you can't refrain from drinking for one day I suggest you get to Alcoholics Anonymous. Thanksgiving is a day most people spend with their families to give thanks for all the great things that have happened in the previous year, why spoil that with tension over your drinking. You say you respect your in-laws and love your wife show them by being courteous on the holiday.

If this is true on what you are saying, then I would give up the drinking on Thanksgiving day. Ihave been there and done that, and I regret it by not being with the family during the holiday season. Think about it.
I hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving Weekend.

on the prompt the Saints practice monogamy. As to why replace, that is a question which could be responded in diverse procedures. As a pragmatic count number in 1890 the Church replaced into confronted with the shortcoming of all sources consisting of the temples. The leaders were confronted with reformatory and the artwork of the gospel replaced into being thwarted. The Prophet went to the Lord and received revelation that conserving the Church and spreading the gospel were the priority. contained in the scripture that licensed plural marriage the Lord says: " i'm the Lord thy God, and that i gave unto thee, my servant Joseph, an appointment, and restore all issues. Ask what ye will, and that is going to likely accept unto you in accordance to my observe." I study this to intend that because the residing Prophet Joseph Smith had the authority to sanction plural marriage. even as WIlford Woodruff replaced into Prophet, he had the authority lower than an similar scripture to end it. very last i imagine that plural marriage replaced right into a idea to set the early Saints aside to attempt to attempt them for a era of time. As maintained by small splinter communities, it destroys households. that is persevered purely even as the more youthful adult adult males are banished from the community.

Give it up for one day and for her and yourself IF you love her that much. You said that you have respect for them, well then show them that respect and don't drink any at all while the family is there. You sound like you can't even give it up for a few hours.
