Why does it have to have a point ? Religious people have just
embraced some wish full nonsense that has no basis. I guess the dinosaurs are all in heaven and know why they were here, long before human animals. Life was
thrust upon us, so just make the best of it.

Well, maybe that's where the problem is. You don't have an ultimate goal/destination made in your life. For an athiest, there probably is no point in life. You have no where to go but be eaten by bugs when you lay in your final bed the grave. Eventually you just become soil. Period. End of Story.

When a person has faith, he/she has a long life goal of pleasing his/her god. For me, His name is Allah. I find peace and sense of purpose knowing that He is watching over me, protecting me. I have an ultimate goal of pleasing him and thereafter reaching Heaven (God willing). That's the religion, the choice I've made for myself.

Now you chose to be an athiest, then just deal with it. If you want more sense of purpose, go...look for it. There's no reason for you to sit here at your computer, whining that you have no point of living when you CHOSE this lifestyle for yourself. It all comes down to what YOU want in LIFE.

I hope you figure this out. Live your life the way you want to and be happy. Don't mope around and feel sorry for the pitiful life you made for yourself. Get up and go.

The point of life is simply to live. Do whatever makes you happy. This may mean bringing the joy of being alive to your friends and family or eating triple fudge cake. You can celebrate life and nature by watching the seasons changed, staying up to see the sunset, or listening to bird calls. You can do other things that you enjoy, like going to concerts, watching movies, or turning up your radio. If you choose to live each day for the simple fact of seeing what might happen, then go for it.
Do not get caught up in an existential quandary full of loathing and self-doubt. I find reading authors like Camus and Sartre inspirational, for they contain the simple message of living for whatever makes you happy.

Whats the point of knowing the point of life? Is it going to make you any happier? Is it going to put food on the table? Will it pay your bills? Who the hell cares? Life is a struggle. If you can manage to buy a house, get it paid off and make it to retirement with financial security, have some good friends to share life with, you've got life licked. Puzzling over the imponderable is a complete waste of time.

You remind me of a flood survivor who climbed atop his roof & refused all aids of assistance, assuming that a 'better' option
(more to his liking) awaited him. THE Best option was to get a 'lift' to safety, but he passed up 3 offers: 1 on a boat, 2 on a raft, 3 floating to safety while holding onto a floating log. None of those were what he was looking for, so he remained -- stuck right along with his ideas. Is that the situation you Really want to be in?

Maybe if you were a Christian and believed in God you wouldn't worry as much about it. It may cross your mind but it wouldn't bother you so much. I am not trying to tell you what to do it is your choice. It sounds like you are lost and i'm sure God would love for you to find him and let him into your heart and life. I REALLY hope that you do. Give God a chance, and if you do I can guarantee only positive things will come from having God in your life and being a Christian. If you have any questions please e-mail me.
